High school seniors are right now touring colleges during the spring break week and deciding what to do after they walk off the graduation stage. One of those shining examples for a bright future ahead is a Pittsford teen who's dedicated her high school career to making everyone around her feel seen.

While preparing for the next phase of her life, Pittsford Mendon High School senior OlaRose Ndubuisi remarks on just how far she's come.

“Applying to college was a great way for me to reflect on my high school journey, because they ask you a lot of questions about what you did throughout high school, what you’re passionate about,” OlaRose explains to News 8's Mikhaela Singleton.

Generation ROC previously featured OlaRose for her passionate advocacy for kids like her with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis by offering artistic expression, community, and free screenings in the US and Nigeria.

Now, she proudly holds another honor: the 2025 Princeton Prize in Race Relations. OlaRose recently gave a presentation to the Princeton committee on her work as president of Pittsford High's Black Student Union and her efforts to bring artistic expression to struggling students as the 2024-2025 New York State Youth Poet Laureate.
