Mamadou is the founder of student-led organization in New York City called the Young Hackers (http://younghackers.us/). The Young Hackers promotes racial harmony by empowering minority students to develop skills in writing software code. Mamadou and his colleagues at the Young Hackers have led five hackathons in New York City, which have attracted over 500 high school students (including a group from as far away as Detroit). The organization's goal is to encourage more minority students to pursue computer science majors in college and ultimately create a comfortable space for them in the tech industry by increasing diversity in the field.
