Bio/Description

Hailey Litzsey is a senior at Hutchison School in Memphis, Tennessee, where she serves as Equity and Inclusion Council president, educating the student body about advocacy, activism and cultural awareness. Outside of school, Hailey is the founder of the Her Image Initiative, which provides a safe space for young women of color to voice their opinions, insecurities and ambitions freely while teaching them how to combat stereotypes in their daily lives. Hailey has come to recognize firsthand that many negative stereotypes of women of color have been perpetuated to push them down, stunt their growth and hinder their success as individuals. Her Image reinforces the enduring beauty of these young women, regardless of how the world's beauty standards shift and change. Hailey has hosted two annual conferences, in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, Hailey was featured in Memphis Parent magazine with an article that highlighted her creation and teaching of an elementary curriculum that educates girls on how to enter spaces where they are the minority and maintain a strong sense of confidence in their identity. Hailey's work as Equity and Inclusion Council president and Her Image founder has impacted many young women throughout Memphis. After Hailey graduates this year, the Her Image programming will continue through summertime workshops. Hailey plans to create an extension of Her Image wherever she attends college, and ultimately she sees this program expanding and reaching young women nationwide, potentially through creating Her Image clubs on elementary, middle- and high-school campuses around the country.
