Daniella was honored for co-founding and leading an initiative called G.I.V.E (go. innovate.volunteer.educate.), which promotes cultural understanding for students across the globe through a letter-writing exchange. Since its inception, the organization has generated over 500 letters from students in Illinois, Washington D.C. and Wisconsin, as well as the Boys and Girls Club of Virginia, to schools throughout India, Uganda and Rwanda. G.I.V.E has raised money and received grants to buy children's books and over 1,000 pairs of flip flops which are signed with messages of friendship and hope. As a result of Daniella's good work, she was invited to present at a conference sponsored by Northwestern University and regularly contributes to blogs and essay competitions.
