Local student improves race relations

A local student is inspiring her school and community with her drive to improve race relations. Shaker Heights High School senior Amani Hill wanted to close the minority achievement gap.

Hill co-founded an effort called "Bridging the Gap," which brought together students, faculty, and community members to find solutions. Her ultimate goal is to put forward actionable plans to the school board, so it can make changes to help students.

This work has earned Hill a prestigious award called the Princeton Prize in Race Relations.
